Good bye Beam

Beam of Light of Malabo APD Beam of Light was the first dog from Malabo to receive international recogniton. Son of Nashira’s Katano Ridgeville – Brazil’s breed biggest Rhodesian Ridgeback winner, with more than 25 BIS and BISS 3 in the US – Beam showed very early that he would be a star … With several BIS as puppy, he was the first dog of my kennel to win a Specialty in the US.
Beam grabbed everyone’s attention wherever he went due to his sensational size, and his sweet and gentle temperament. This international recognition he achieved brought the world’s attention to Malabo APD.
He won all possible beauty titles in Brazil – from the Puppy Championship to the International FCI Championship. No one could walk by him without noticing his presence: proud, serene, and lush in its exquisite shape.

A dog with so many great qualities was destined to win even more … Beam traveled through several countries winning titles, charming people, and leaving a little bit of the spirit of Malabo in each of one who interact with him.

Handlers, veterinarians, ordinary people … None of them could look away from Beam.

Beam had a very success international career… He won as Uruguayan Champion, Winner Americas y Caribe – 2008, and also American Champion.
He always was an exceptional dog, whose qualities could be admired by all lovers of the breed.

One of the greatest joys of my life was to see Beam representing Brazil at the opening World Dog Challenge – Eukanuba in 2008. For the first time a Rhodesian was representing my country – and also Malabo. He performed so joyfully that day that a Spanish magazine highlighted our big guy! Beam was truly special…

Besides his excellent individual performance, Beam also proved to be an excellent stud dog as evidenced by his offspring.

These were the titles won by Beam:
• Champion Puppy
• Junior Champion
• Brazilian Champion and Grand Champion
• Panamerican Champion and Grand Champion
• Uruguayan Champion
• American Champion
• Winner Americas y Caribe – 18/05/2008
• International FCI Champion

Beam leaves us today due to an aggressive form of cancer that has way to control or prevent. He leaves us today with the bitter taste of unsettlement We were by his side through every minute, every victory … And today we lost together the same fight against cancer.
