Thank you for your recent enquiry about our Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

All my pups or adult dogs are sold to homes where the puppy will become a part of the family.

To be on a puppy / dog waiting list from my kennels I like you to complete the enclosed prospective owner questionnaire. It provides me with some information about yourself and your family and tells me what you would like to see in your new puppy. I also like you to tell me how you are going to provide an active home and provide plenty of socialization for your new Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy / dog.

Please return the questionnaire to me by email or by regular mail at the address below. Once I have your application I’ll get back to you about the waiting lists, puppy deposits and a possible for a visit to my place to se my dogs and the puppies J.

I breed my dogs very selectively and strive to breed very healthy and sound Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

Availability of Young Dogs.

At this time we have one 19 month old show prospect female available. This house trained and leashed trained puppy is available on breeders co-ownership contract to prospective owners with a show or breeding interest.

Upcoming Litters

Both sire and Dam are health screened and have clear hip/ elbow x-rays, cardiac tested normal, Thyroid normal and have had eye CERF Exams.

Puppy Quality

Together with 2 independent professional handlers I grade each puppy in the litter (ranked) ranging from pet quality to possible future breeding and show prospects. Puppies are graded at about 7-8 weeks of age and assigned a quality grade and price.

Puppy Price, Pet insurance, AKC Registration, Guarantee and Deposits

Correct “show” prospect puppies are more expensive than companion puppies.

Contact me to learn more about types of contract available. Puppies that are sold with show contracts generally requires the owners to show the animal to a conformation Championship, and in some cases I will co-own the puppy for helping out showing and also for retaining stud-rights or breeding rights on bitches. The purchase price on a show and co-owned contract may be different from the price of a puppy “with no strings attached”.

The puppy price varies with the Sire and Dam combination and puppy quality grade (actual rank and grade in the litter).

The puppy price (all pet and show prospect puppies) include:

Vaccinations for parvo, distemper, para influensa, bordetella will be given prior to sale.

A vet check exam conducted by our veterinarian and a health record is issued prior to sale, a microchip-ID and microchip registration.

The sale also include an AKC registration (limited or regular), 2 months of pet veterinary medical insurance (that I recommend you continue for life of dog to keep vet fees down) and a free vet check at a vet of your choice from an AKC participating Veterinarian – info in the registration form. A puppy packet containing an owner’s guide, and food is also included.

The contract includes a written breeder’s health guarantee and my personal dedications to you and your puppy (24 hrs/7 days a week – almost!) and Life time breeder back-up support.

A non-refundable puppy deposit of 25% of the purchase price is requested from the potential buyer to reserve a puppy from a litter, and the remainder of purchase price is due at time of delivery.

Show prospect and breeding quality puppies from the Gatsby x Donga Litter range from $1800.00 – $ 2300.00 come with individual contracts. Contract includes a 30 month of age guarantee for congenital health issues. Puppies have show contracts if full registrations are supplied. Please see below in Purchasing a puppy from us.

Companion Puppies can be shown in agility, lure coursing and obedience trials but are NOT to be used for conformation showing or breeding, come with limited AKC Registrations and Spay Neuter Contracts (SNC)

* $ 1000-1500.00 pet pups are graded and depending what makes them not show prospect will be disclosed in the purchase contract i.e. pet with major ridge fault and tail kinks or other cosmetic issues or a pet with no major ridge fault but may have other minor flaws not suitable for breeding. All pet or companion puppies or older dogs are sold with limited Registration and the buyer’s willingness signing a spaying or neuter contract. Pet puppies are by contract not allowed to be bred under no circumstances.

Purchasing a Puppy from us
What is required for our puppies

1. The puppy / dog must be kept in the house and within the family. I will not sell puppies to kennel-housing outside of the house as I believe Ridgeback needs contact with his human companions
2. I will sell breeding animals only to responsible breeders who select carefully owners of their puppies and stand behind them. I will not support puppy mills and backyard breeders. If a puppy bitch is to be bred in the future I want to make sure that the puppies will be weaned in the household and have lot of contact with people and get proper socialization before being placed.
3. I request by contract that the puppy is hip and elbow dysplasia tested by the OFA or similar organization in buyers country at the age of 24 + months by a certified vet. The copy of the OFA or similar certificate should be sent to me.
4. I request that the bitches will not be bred before 30 months of age and dogs not before 18 Months. Owners shall consult any breeding with me prior to breeding.
5. I also request at least one personal visit of the owners to my house before the puppy is sold.
6. I select the puppies no earlier than at 8 weeks of age, that means it is not possible to choose name for your puppy as they are micro chipped at 7 weeks
7. All puppies leave my house at 10 weeks of age
8. I also request that the new owner stays in contact with me and informs me about both success with the puppy and the problems either behavioral or health-related.
9. I request the right to visit the dog in the new family
10. I do not ship dogs to people I never met.
11. Pet and companion quality animals are sold on spay/neuter contract with limited registrations.
12. Should the dog be sold/re-housed I should be informed and the owner must make sure all obligations are transferred to new owner.

What do I offer:

1. All owners receive full information about the litter
2. All puppies leave my house micro chipped
3. Each puppy will be sold with contract
4. If show quality puppy has a genetic fault because of which it can not be bred, I will refund the difference between a pet quality puppy paid purchase price if different, provided that the owner supplies me with veterinary certificate that the animal was spayed/neutered and has not been bred (or collected for frozen semen) to any bitch before the operation. This condition is valid until 30 months of dog’s age
5. Should the owner fail/not want to take care of the dog I will take it back or take care of re-housing at any age and any health condition.
6. Should the puppy die within 8 weeks after purchase, the owner should organize autopsy. Should the puppy die on infection that he/she got at the breeder I will refund 100% of the purchase price. I will refund 100% purchase price should the puppy die within 8 weeks on genetic disease as well. The owner must however supply me with authorized copy of the autopsy report as soon as possible.
